Here is the story of my fight with Body Integrity Identity Disorder, and how it has given me a unique perspective into the transgender issue because I, too, suffered a decades-long belief that my body needed to be mechanically altered to fit a mental image…I was just fortunate I never fell under the power of evil ideologues wishing to push me into mutilation in order to benefit their power and financial gain.
